Anybody opposed to their policies is a person with a moral failing, and they are eager to point that out."

You see this tactic played out all the time in the climate change debates. Anyone who questions the climate change othodoxy is immediately branded as an "extremist", or "kook", or "outside the mainstream of scientific opinion". Its nothing more than Alinksy tactics applied to the energy debate: ridicule and marinalize those who oppose you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3033288879708780106.post-88007123768402227682013-01-06T09:00:54.953-05:002013-01-06T09:00:54.953-05:00Thank you both for your comments. Some of them are pro-nuclear, many of them are against nuclear. Most of them would like the wind farms to be required to have the sort of review that ski resorts undergo. Vermonters don't like their mountains chopped up for no good reason.

The dedicated anti-nuclear groups, however, VPIRG, CLF, CAN, Decommissioning Alliance—these groups are totally pro-wind. These groups sent out that press release. These groups insult people if the people are not pro-wind.

Sometimes people accuse nuclear advocates as being in an echo chamber...that we only speak to those already convinced. I think the "environmental" groups are in a far more sound-proof echo chamber. They can't even imagine why anyone would be opposed to their policies. Anybody opposed to their policies is a person with a moral failing, and they are eager to point that out.

Meredith Angwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02737538041807740424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3033288879708780106.post-12179735426427924262013-01-05T22:43:18.276-05:002013-01-05T22:43:18.276-05:00Untill I saw these pictures I was sorry I no longe...Untill I saw these pictures I was sorry I no longer lived near enough to VT to visit durring the fall.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3033288879708780106.post-59247572272971676142013-01-05T19:59:10.929-05:002013-01-05T19:59:10.929-05:00Re: "The Reformer article says: In the group...Re: "The Reformer article says: In the groups' press release, Kilian characterized wind-power opposition as "the extreme voices of those who refuse to take responsibility for our energy future."

Gee, who the heck passed these groups' rabid fears the responsibility of denying others a proven clean quiet and low-footprint power source?
